We may think of the ocean when mentioning Victor Hugo who had two important things in his life, Paris and the ocean. Dark Ocean is his earliest work describing the ocean. In the days of staying in Guernsey surrounded by the ocean, Hugo got up early in the morning and had poems in his mind when watching the ebb and flow of the tides. The ocean made him broad-minded and inspired him for art creation.

On August 31, 2019 (Saturday), the Pear Art Museum, together with wediy, guided children to find elements of the ocean in the works of Victor Hugo and make the “ocean” into bookmarks. We hope that they could learn about Hugo’s wonderful life focused on “the Hugo beyond the books” while enjoying creation with mixed materials.
